Estate Planning in the Era of COVID-19

Estate Planning can still be accomplished in this time of social distancing. There are several simple adjustments to procedures that make this possible. For initial communications, video conferencing and phone meetings can establish a client’s needs and desires. Documents can then be drawn up and shared digitally for review. State law still requires a physical signing in the presence of witnesses and a notary, but all this can be done as a drive-through with limited contact. These current procedures are already established and underway.

Times of uncertainty remind us of how important it is to plan ahead. Here at Hillsborough Wills & Trusts, we have been happy to support a continuing stream of clients who have taken advantage of this unusual time to complete their estate planning documents. We are glad to be of service and to offer peace of mind.
